G’evening eaters!
So the holiday is officially over and I bet a lot of you were back to the regular grind today. How was it? Are you ready to have a little more structure to your day or would you have liked another day or two to get rid of that dried out “I drank too much beer and ate too many Jell-o shots in the sun” feeling?
What, other people didn’t eat patriotic Jell-o shots while baking in the sun at the beach? Well then you missed out.
Anywhoo, I drove back to the ‘Boro today. At first I was excited to get back to my normal life (and see the manly friend since it’s his birthday today), but then as I was saying my g’byes I got pretty sad. It’s weird not knowing the next time I’ll be seeing my family.
At least I got to spend plenty of quality time with them this weekend. And plenty of time in the kitchen with Sister.
First, Papa requested that I make him crème brulee for a belated Fathers’ Day gift. I’ve never made it before, but Stepmom owns a butane torch, so I was game.

Being a custard-virgin, I followed an Alton Brown recipe like it was a leprechaun leading me to a pot of gold.
Once they were done, I fired up the butane and torched those cute little custards until…
But the fun didn’t stop there. Oh no! All weekend Sister kept saying she wanted to make chocolate chip cookies with milk chocolate AND white chocolate. So, being the awesome big sister that I am I had to oblige.
And really eaters, is there any better sight than walking into the kitchen and seeing a mountain of fresh cookies?
So while it certainly sucks to have to say g’bye, I know that I made the most of my time with the family. And I know that manly friend will soon be back from his weekend adventures so we can watch reruns of “Burn Notice” (he has a huge crush on Gabrielle Anwar, the woman who plays Fiona) and eat pizza in bed. Oh yeah, he’s really living it up for his birthday.
I’ll probably recap more of my fun times tomorrow. Or I’ll have something exciting for you. I guess you’ll just have to check back tomorrow to find out which.
Ha! G’night eaters!

Oh wow, I haven't met anyone who actually watches Burn Notice! I mean they have heard of it, but not actually watch episodes. This really excites me since I know I'm not the only one
Fiona is really fierce, but I prefer Michael
The various supplies and designs utilized inside the modern sinks make them give the bathroom a fabulous appear. Faucets could be fixed inside the counter top or the wall.
